Adventures to the Old Country


In about a week I'm packing my bag and going to Italy and Sicily...for 3 weeks. I'm heading back to Italy to spend some time relaxing, eating, drinking and celebrating my new year with some family that I haven't seen in 15 years. It's definitely a trip that I've been hoping to take for a while, just waiting for the right opportunity. Too bad I couldn't convince any of my friends to come with me; and too bad I don't have a cutie to accompany me. The good news is that I'm hoping to find one there...drinking wine alone is just no fun at all!

So, my itinerary is pretty flexible...
June 12 - June 15: arrive in Milan then head straight to the French/Italian border and the Italian Riviera - Staying in the small town of Torri Superiore nestled in the mountains.

June 15 - 20: Make my way to Tuscany. Spend my days in small towns, visiting vineyards, drinking wine, and wander around the countryside. Maybe I'll get a Vespa to zip around town in! Or, probably just a bike...a bit safer for me, if you know how I drive.

June 20 - July 1: Take a boat to Sicily to visit my aunts, uncles and cousins.

July 1 July 5: Head over to Rome for art and beatiful gardens...then fly home!

I hope you are having a wonderful time! I wish I was there! Of course now that you are gone I need a name of a person you were going to put me contact with to help me with my Dad. This actually was a student who was in the nursing program and his mom. I think we can send some work there ways starting in July. I could you the son in the evening and Mom in the morning and a few days full days a week. I'm not sure if they are still looking for work but if you have their name or how I can reach them I can give them call and try and set it up it! I miss you!!! Drink some wine for me!!! Love you!! One month ago...

One month ago today Mr. C and I tied the knot!  So exciting that I call him my husband and he, my wife.  It's been a fun month and we still say we're on our honeymoon.  I get this feeling of bliss and giddyness when I'm around him, makes me feel like a schoolgirl sometimes. This is how a conversation went when I told a co-worker that today is our month anniversary: Me:  Today Mr. C and I have been married one month! Her:  Really?  That's sweet.  I've been married for 28 years. Me:  Awww...do you still love seeing him every day and being together? Her:  Sometimes. Then, the whole room of older, married ladies burst into laughter.  It was like an inside joke that I'm not in on, yet.  I hope that in 28 years he'll still smile when I walk into the room, or I'll still race home just to feel his arms hug me and welcome me home.
